the fangirl experiment

published!

Finally figured out what I'd got wrong trying to publish this. I have now sorted it and as you are reading, it worked :)

And, and, and!!! I am no longer confined and forced to use IE as my web browser. The SO has fixed the problem (deleted files) and now I'm back on Mozilla. Yay!!

Ack, my head is spinning. I wouldn't be so upset if i could blame it on something I did but it's my sinuses. I feel like crud! Of course three hours on buses to and from Hitchin (which is only 25 minutes away by car) certainly didn't help my internal equalibrium.

Am currently hoping that this thing will not stop a trip to Ikea with mums and kids from school tomorrow. Lex is very excited about it. Not really sure why but at least I don't have to worry too much about things breaking. Ikea is mostly kid friendly.

Chatted with Soul and Sann last night... there was much silliness. Including a discussion on what constitutes crossing the personal boundaries of the famous, which then degenerated into leg humping definitly crossing the line and whether or not we are scary, OTT fangirls. It was decided that we are but because we keep all of the REALLY scary stuff away from the public we're ok to be allowed into the world outside our doors. However, I am no longer to be trusted with squeaky rubber ducks, particularly in any proximity to David Hewlett.

*taptaptap* Is this thing on?!

Well it's been a while but i'm back from obscurity. And the blame can be laid firmly at the feet of two people... well, one really. Was IM'ing with Soul' earlier and we were talking about Stargate Atlantis (hereto known as SGA) and I was surfing past David Hewlett's website (http://www.adogsbreakfastmovie.com) and noticed his blog and I have to say that I agree with Soul's reason for not reading it. The man is a walking reason, on and off screen, to go 'squeee'... out loud, thus thoroughly embarrassing oneself. There was much snark and many queries about where David Hewlett ends and Rodney MacKay begins. My son, who is 5, thinks I'm mad because of all the seemingly spontaneous giggling I've been doing today. He wouldn't have known had it not been his first ever 'SnowDay'! Not sure if it's a reason to celebrate. Thinking about though - it's my first ever snow day. I've seen snow before but it's the first time I've been affected like this by it. Growing up in Sydney, we would take a school trip to *see* the snow, not stay home because of it. I built my first snowman today and it's harder than it looks. Snow doesn't roll and it's light and fluffy and that doesn't make for a solid construction. We had a two part body and used red rosehips for eyes and black ones for buttons. And hour later he'd committed somekind of sepuku and thrown his torso and head from his lower body before he could melt. But I got photos.

Bad ones. For all the hype they get cameras on mobile phones bite! Of course, the glare from what little light there was didn't help, and the whole white on white thing made for a study in point and click photography.

Ikea next Wednesday with some of the mums from school. They have a free creche where we plan to leave the children while we browse the market hall before going to the cafe for lunch. Half term makes for some desperation as far as seeking entertainment goes, plus I like shopping anywhere you can get things you actually have a use for that don't cost more than a fiver.

*shrug* So I'm cheap....

Should I admit that in public?
